    Interesting Floh,

since you’re using fibrejet with the Apple Xraid i might ask you a question:
I’m playing with an Xserve RAid with 14 drives, the 7 drives from both controllers have been raided level 5, if i raid both channel with Apple disk utility to great on big volume raid 50 then i cannot partition the Volume so i can set up Partitions for my Fibrejet San….

I would like to use all the drive to aggregate the bandwith…
Is there a software to able me to do this or is it a lost cause,
how did you set up your fibrejet san with your apple xserve raid ??

    Cheers

    very valid point Rick,

first set your scratch disk to your internal hd , if it works ok then
you know it has to be a raid Issue.

Check on the Apple support web site there is an update for the xserve raid
    designed for video capture:
    https://www.apple.com/support/downloads/xserveraiddriver10.html

see if it helps, check your fibre channel card’s drivers too.

    Lol Peter,

have you try to disable you desktop display through the BM control panel in your system preferences.
there is an option to switch it off after a restart.
At least on the mac, so i’m taking a guess it will be the same on your pc.

    Hi,

we’ve installed and sold many of these Infortrend Boxes and they are great indeed,
not as easy to configure as an Xserve Raid but much more flexible,
in fact with enough drives you could turn this box into a 2 seats san with Fibrejet software
running 10 Bit uncompressed Sd.( and no swith need for a 2 seats san !! )

Hi check your Pal setting in FCP,

the field order should be upeer for 8/10 Bit pal
but i recall seeing lower field order for Pal
when FCP 5 First came out.
    Which might explain your problem.
