In Windows 10 – right-click your mouse on one of your recordings – and choose Properties – Details – look for your recordings are 1440×1080!
If your recordings are 1440×1080, you cannot use 5DtoRGBbatchGUI! The program is only for full HD 1920×1080!

First, the Video Preview Window in Vegas Pro is only for cutting your footage and Scope’s is your best friend !
When you have to Render your movie out of Vegas Pro – you need a codec that is Broadcast Safe 16-235 !
I read what you write – so first I would try to put an FX: Sony Levels – Preset: Computer RGB to Studio RGB –
on the video track on the timeline and see what happens! -

Pillarbox/Letterboxis the way to go if you got 1920×1080 footage !
Maybe you got 1440×1080 ?

In Davinci Resolve all the processing about color and sharpness is by the graphics card ! For uhd/4k they say you need 8gb Vram !

I think your problem is that smart phones use frame rate to adjust exposure. NLE’s do not like variable frame rates! You can buy an app for your Iphone: Filmic Pro – here you can set the frame rate to constant !
You can download a program to your computer: Mediainfo – which can display all information regarding your recordings !
