    Hi guys,

First off, apologies if this issue has already been flagged. I have done a number of searches, but yet to find the right cure for the problem yet.

I use Sony Vegas Pro 15 for editing, and have been importing the .mov video files from my iphone for some time with success. Suddenly this has stopped working, and while some files will still play, most will load on the timeline, but then crash/freeze Vegas entirely when I try to edit with them. I have tested a lot of other existing video files of various types and sizes and they all seem to work OK. The only thing I can think of is that i recently did some driver upgrades on my Dell Inspiron laptop. I have a bit operating system with 16 gigs of ram with intel-core i7.

I would appreciate any advice you could give me, and please let me know if any further info is required.

    Thanks,

    Tara

    Hi Tara !

Take one of your “bad” iphone footage and convert it to constant frame rate with Handbrake and see if you can play the clip without problems !

    Best,
    Ole

I convert all my iPhone footage in bulk to MP4 using qwinff, which is 100% free and really easy to use. It is the only method that has worked for me.

    My system specs: Intel i7 7700k 4.20 GHz, GTX1060, 16GB RAM, Gigabye Z170 HD3, Vegas Pro 13 (x64), Windows 10 x64 Pro, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, VASST Infiniticam 1.7, Neat Video Pro 2.6

Thanks Ole, I’ve had a play and that appears to have done something! Quality is a bit less than desired, but I will have a play and see if I can find the right settings. Thanks for your help, really strange it would accept the video before as it was and not now, but oh well! Thanks, Tara

    Hi Tara

I think your problem is that smart phones use frame rate to adjust exposure. NLE’s do not like variable frame rates! You can buy an app for your Iphone: Filmic Pro – here you can set the frame rate to constant !

You can download a program to your computer: Mediainfo – which can display all information regarding your recordings !

Oooh, thanks for the tip Ole, I will definitely be taking a look at both of those. Anything for good quality! 🙂
