I’m not getting this to work. At all.. You mention I should see the filename without the extension (.mov).. I see the .mov extension here. I don’t understand what I should adjust in the Config page in order to get rid of that.

Nobody seems to know what’s going on in regards of the MC Color. I had it for a two day demo in April last year. I loved it. But I can’t wait for it. If you like the Wave, go for that. I’ll be going the JL Cooper route.. What I’ve read about the Wave is “light” and “built in plastic”. Not my kind of investment. I want something that feels really solid.

I don’t have any experience with this myself, but during the demo in Oslo on thursday, someone from the audience asked about this.

Dan Moran who held the demo, said it was “do this, click here, dust gone”, and that it would overwrite that exact frame to the source media. So I think that’s the way it works. If you’d like to undo that – I’m not really sure what to tell you. Take backup of the material before dust busting?

Simply put. Yup… Resolve could do what you’re doing manually now, in no time. Cut, slice, and split the QT and have you grading within seconds or minutes. Can even make an EDL of it if you’d like.

Nice touch, you can have the sound during playback too. Some find it less interesting, for me it makes it easier to add the hourly rate a notch. Sound and playback makes happy clients!

You can render both as a “solid QT” or as clips in its own folder, much like in Color.

Not as far as I know. Have you looked through the short cut manual and the different drop down menus in the top menu bar?

I highly suggest though, that you take a look at either ScopeBox or UltraScopes. Need to justify why you’d want a whole new computer for scopes? Well, think of it like this;

you can use it for ingest, rendering or compressing videos etc, things you’d normally do on your #1 Mac. I do this all the time – saves plenty of time, and gives me more time to do the creative and fun things.

My thoughts exactly.

The project I had lately with the interlaced footage being mixed with 5D MKII footage went live and was broadcasted. Nobody noticed or said anything about the visual quality. The 5D footage was converted to Prores 422 LT for editing and color adjustments. It looked killer !

I recently worked on 21 videos shot on a 5D. The photographer converted them to ProRes LT. Plenty of information in that yet make it look good. It’s lightweight too.

Select the drive you want to serve as your Resolve media drive. This includes source footage and rendering.

When you want to work with different projects, the source footage must be somewhere on that drive.

It may be possible that you either
a) don’t have the footage in a codec Resolve can see. For instance, all the Prores codecs are supported. What codec does your footage have?

b) You started Resolve first, moved the footage into the folder, but didn’t refresh in the Browse page. You will need to right-click and hit Refresh in order to see it then.

What I’ve done is,

That’s right. HD playback on one Mac with output to SD on the Decklink card, and record on the second Mac in SD. That did the trick.
