I absolutely agree. This would be a great resource. If it was available…

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I think I should spend those $$$ in some SAS storage then. Bigger, faster, better!

I tested H264 very early on. In my opinion – don’t. Just.. don’t..

I did a pretty massive job shot on 5D early in January. I had the photographer convert the H264 footage to ProRes 422 LT before editing, and then brought that 422 LT footage into Resolve as baked, 100% done clips and used Scene detection to cut it to pieces.

This might sound like a good idea to others. To me, it does not. I’d rather request something and live in the hope than being promised something that will take loads of unknown time to get. Once we know “ok, go!” on the programming, we’ll be dying to know “are we there yet?” instead of actually using the great tools we have today.

  • I see your point, if that’s the kind of productions you happen to get a lot. I’ve never come across a project where theres so many dissolves on top of each other. Would you mind showing me an example? I’m just curious on how it actually looks.

I’ve done 10 or so commercials going straight to the big screen. I’ve never encountered anything else than hard cuts or in worst case, dissolves, som I’m not as biased towards this as you and the others. 🙂

I have Add and Next version as shortcut commands on my Logitech G13 keyboard. It’s seriously a time saver. So if you name your versions – you’ll even know what version you’re on a little easier.

Wow, that was.. um.. Embarrassing. I just needed that DOT between R and *
    That solved the problem completely.

Ah that’s what I’ve been missing? A little DOT ? I’ll try that again when I get back to the office. Gonna go out on location to rig 5 cameras and a mobile OB setup now.. Oh the joy of having multiple hats. At least I’m not growing roots in the office 🙂

Funny thing is – this setting, “Embedding in source clip file” worked for me.. .

Oops.. Forgot to add the screenshot of the settings.

Tell me, is there something wrong in this EDL export? If so, it might prove why I’m not getting this to work.
