I’d like to bump this question up. If anyone has an answer to getting PPro to continue playing after pressing ↑or ↓ I’d appreciate the clue.
Right now it stops after moving to the next/previous edit point.

Some motion attributes (like position) have two key frame interpolation attributes; Temporal (time) and Spatial (space). Right click on your keyframes and confirm that both attributes are set to linear (as opposed the default auto-bezier.)
I have found when auto-bezier is turned on my motion/speed ramps up and down making my video become unpredictable. Changing to linear rectifies the problem. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to change the interpolation defaults.

I also had the same problem. Here is another solution that works quite nicely but requires QT Player 7.
TL;DR Use QT Player 7 to trim the first frames of the mp4 file and export with codec of choice.
Step-by-step Instructions
Open the mp4 file in QT Player 7. Move your playhead a few frames forward and set an in point. (Shortcut key = i) Then move your playhead to the last frame and set your out point. (Shortcut key = o). Then “trim to selection” (Edit/trim to selection).
After you have trimmed the selection, Export the file (Command-E) and under the export settings pick your codec of choice.
Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy.

Today I went looking for some new wipes/motion graphics over at Digital Juice only to discover that they had switched to the new subscription based model. All that is well and good but the new website does not allow for any preview of effects or searching of packages, unless I am missing something. I can’t even find the media management desktop application. I wonder how they expect customers to shell out $250+ for unseen products. DJ was a frustrating product (clunky, not intuitive, etc) before but walling off preview content is really shortsighted.
Anywho, over on Glassdoor.com, old employees of DJ share some of the pro’s and cons of working with the company. Apparently lots of screaming and belittling amidst a chaotic, hyper-controlling environment. An insightful read for those working in the biz.

I had the exact same problem. OS Extended and Journaled hard drives but getting the av1, av2 files. Turns out I had a check box clicked that limited the file size to @3500mb. Un-clicking fixed the problem. Here is a full explanation from Shane Ross. It is part 2 in stock answer 33.

Hey Noah,
I actually never saw the grain in the on board. What I meant to say is that when I played the tape back in the DVX the readout in the screen reports the db level and iris level at the time of recording. When I first looked at the captured footage I immediately thought, Dang, I mus have bumped the gain switch to high. When I played the tape back in the camera, tho, it just said 0db.
The footage looks like crap when played back in QT. But when I watch footage output to an NTSC monitor the blur and noise disappears.
