I’ve got a simple little 3-minute video with two sets of layers basically…one layer is a radial zoom, the other is a fractal animation.

For whatever reason, the radial zoom layer renders, but there’s no sign of the fractal. They both show up in the preview window.

I’ve probably clicked a box or something somewhere that’s screwing me up…any idea? Never had this problem.

I figured it out. I had “guide layer” checked and that was preventing it from rendering.

Oh man you saved the day
    I searched for
preview “after effects” won’t render one layer
and this was the first result so use quote in google for best results

BUT WHERE IS THE BUTTON TO SHUT IT OFF!!!

For the next poor sap who runs into this anomlay(id personally not have it in render only in preview so no one would havethis problem)

    haha
Took me an hour next to the layer name there will a tic-tac-toe symbol
just right click on the layer and you will see a check box next to ‘guide layers’ and unselect that

    and on mac..?

    TY, TY, TY!!!!

I have no idea how that “guide layer” thingy got turned on. But without you goof folks at creative cow forums I am sure I would have gone mad looking for it.

    Sheesh.
