    Shane,
your stock answers (as your blog) are absolutely top-notch. However, notice that I was speaking about a quicktime file. And that matters a lot to me, because this will go on to a website, and only a website. Therefore, the quality of the quicktime file needs to be the best possible. So rendering and overlays are not the problem, since Im talking about the quicktime file output…

  • Is the camera it was shot on a european HVX200? Because thats the message it gives when you want FCP to import a framerate it cannot (yet) handle. Just wait a few more days, if you can, till the announced FCP 5.1.2 comes out, and it’ll support 720P25, 1080P25, and others that arent currently supported by FCP

  • You edited a Playboy show? Thats funny! Was that “girls next door”? How was your relationship with Kevin B.?

[David Roth Weiss] “Would you want to do anything important requiring precision with 5/6 of your vision blocked? Thats essentially what you’re doing when displaying an HD signal to an SD monitor”

Wiat… D’you mean to say that the Intensity Card only sends an SD signal? I though since it was HDMI out, it was sending a signal thats fully HD?!

[David Roth Weiss] “It is certainly a an inexpensive way to offline an HD project.”

So you mean you CANT use it to monitor an online DVCProHD project? You CANT use it to color correct accurately? Why?

    Walter,
could you elaborate on that? DO you mean an SD monitor shows less saturation and less luminance than an HD monitor?

  • Hello,

  • You… you dont mean to say Apple is promoting an application suite that can do everything… using another application that is its competition????? (OK, After Effects and Combustion dont compete with Motion, but I mean, come on, couldnt they have used something in Motion or Livetype?…)

March 20, 2006 at 2:29 pm in reply to: 128 MB or 256 MB?

so you’re saying that if I use Motion very rarely and if I dont use a second monitor, final cut wont work any different with 256 MB instead of 128 MB? That would be great… Also, do you think there’s a significant difference between 1,83 Ghz and 2 Ghz?
    Thanks a lot!
