Hi Steffen,
The demands of video and still photography are quite different, for example I shoot all my video fully manual, including focus and exposure and I use a few old Nikkor lens very successfully on my Canon 7D. When it comes to still photography I shy away from the Nikkors, unless it is landscapes or product photography. I shoot a lot of stock photography with Models, in these instances I rely on modern autofocus lenses for speed of use.
I have a 7D and bought the 50mm f1.4 and love this, for still shooting I have a Nikon D300 and use the 70-200 f2.8 a lot.
If you want to shoot wide angle the Tokina 11-16 is a very well regarded lens also for video and stills with Canon 1.6 crop sensors.

I have converted 60fps and 30fps in Neoscene with no problems from 7D files and I use Vegas on a Windows Vista machine. I have read that you need Quicktime installed on your computer for Neoscene to work properly.

I have found that the opposite is true with stuck filters, very gentle pressure with the pads of your fingers flat against the textured surface of the filter ring. Another good tip for a filter is before your screw it on the lens, get a pencil and follow the thread groove with the tip of the pencil, it provides lubrication to thew threads for easy removal.

I use the Kingston pro x133 cards in my 7D the specs are, 25MB/sec read, 20MB/sec write, I have no problems using them for video at 1080p.
The other cards I use are SanDisk ultra ll I think these are around 10Mbps, again no issues with video and the 7D. -
I even had it with shooting close ups of LED Christmas lights outdoors, I could see the cycling on the 7D lcd panel, I adjusted the shutter until it went away.

Send tech support a request and they will give you a deactivation code, then you can switch machines.

Hi Lance,
I’m on vista with Neoscene 64bit with vegas 8, I actually found a fault on Neoscene, which when they worked out what was causing it(their tech service is excellent), they created a new addition on version 8.
The problem was if you turned the sound off on the 7D, Neo wouldn’t process the file, so they did write a new version which isn’t affected by turning the sound off.

I use Cineform Neoscene for all my Canon 7D clips and edit in Sony Vegas, the file gets converted to a 4.2.2 .avi
If you buy from Videoguys NY you get it for $90 instead of $130
Why are you not using the full resolution of the camera for video? I shoot 1080p all the time and treat the footage as an archival original, then my output is adjusted as necessary.

February 28, 2010 at 2:41 pm in reply to: shooting Timelapse withCanon 5D and GBTimelapseI’m using this Ebay TC-80N3 interval timer, do a search they are only about $30 and work great, this is the same type that Philip Bloom is using.
