July 26, 2014 at 2:31 am in reply to: How to only build peaks for audio tracks which don’t have them?Peaks are not per track but are per media file. If you delete the SFK file then the next time you open your project, Vegas will build the peaks (SFK) file again. That is the only way i know of to selectively rebuild a peak file.

From your screen shot it looks like Vegas is having trouble decoding your video file. I can see the thumbnail on the timeline has the multi-color noise. Then again, maybe that noise is actually in the source file.

[balazs puma] “the original file is 1080p .MOV , i would like to store on my pc losless and upload it to youtube aswell. but youtube is an other problem it makes my videos darker”
Forget the lossless thoughts. True lossless rendered files are more massive than you can imagine. Your best lossless are your original files and the Vegas project itself.
For uploading to Youtube, look at rendering with the Mainconcept or Sony AVC “Internet” templates. These renders are not really suitable for archive.
If you really want a rendered archive format you might look at XAVC Intra which is a codec native to Vegas. Or if you install a codec DNxHD or Cineform. These are all intermediate formats. The files will be quite large but high quality.
If your video gets darker on Youtube it sounds like you have a levels problem. There are countless threads on this and other forums on this subject. If this is the case, your camera is outputting full range data, Computer RGB, and the renders need to be in the Studio RGB range. If your camera is a DLSR then situation is a near certainty.

It looks like you changed the default font size in Windows away from something other than the 100% default. A lot of apps cannot deal with this change.

July 23, 2014 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 becomes blurry after uploading to youtubeFirst, Youtube/Vimeo re-encode everything you upload. If what you upload looks good and the result is not good there is probably nothing you can do. They encode to a somewhat low bitrate and fast detailed motion does not encode/compress well.
That said,
You project setting is 23.976 but you are rendering to 29.97. What is up with that? Why are you not rendering to your project setting?Personally I would not use x264vfw. Long GOP codecs do not work ideally in AVI containers. I also would not use single pass ABR mode for x264. Your 6Mbps bitrate is lower than Youtube recommends for 1080 uploads. If using x264vfw I would use crf or two pass mode.
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=enI would use the Mainconcept AVC or Sony AVC “Internet 1080p” templates and adjust as needed. Your project framerate for example and the audio bitrate maybe. Anywhere is the 10-12Mbps bitrate with the Vegas AVC encoders should probably be good enough for a Youtube re-encode. The Vegas AVC encoders are not as good as x264 but since Youtube is re-encoding just giving the Vegas AVC encoders a little more bitrate is good enough.

Can you point to a specific spot/time in your video that you think is bad.

July 21, 2014 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas having issues with video clips from Drift HD cameraI downloaded the file and played it in MPC-HC and advanced frame by frame and there does appear to be frame blending due to the resampling.
Around the 7 second mark where the hand comes into view is where it becomes quite obvious.
Your source and project have the same frame rate, but the render is different and therefore Vegas needs to resample the video stream to the final output. I looked at the properties of the file you uploaded in MediaInfo. The Vegas frame blending resample does not give good results for many scenes. Most people turn resampling off. That is an event level switch/property.

July 21, 2014 at 2:49 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas having issues with video clips from Drift HD cameraYou have given no information to work with but I’ll take a guess that maybe your framerates from the camera source and project/render are different and the choppiness is coming from Vegas frame resample blending. Normally this frame blending just gives a blurry/soft look but it might give a choppy look.
Some things that might help people help you.
Details of the camera source file(s). A MediaInfo report is excellent. It is a free utility.
Details of your project settings.
Details of your render settings.

July 20, 2014 at 11:20 pm in reply to: Render settings & Youtube keeps telling me process faster if you encode into a streamable file ADVICE please[jenny gold] “****Plus what may I do rendering setting differently then to avoid getting this message “Your videos will process faster if you encode into a streamable file format””
Did you have the “Enable progressive download” option checked in your render template?
This may be what Youtube is talking about in their message.
With this checked, the file header information is placed at the front of the file. With this, Youtube can start processing/encoding your upload at the same time as you are uploading. Without it checked Youtube cannot start processing your video until the very last byte of your upload is received.
As for how long it takes to upload, that is all dependent on your internet upload speed. In this example you are uploading 865MB.

To get something on top of something else you put that on a track that is above track where you have the stuff you want covered.
To get a black bar you can create a solid color event and use a crop or a mask to get the size and shape of bar you want. If you use crop then set the stretch to fill frame setting of No.
If you want the bar to move around the screen you can keyframe the movement.
