This book is (at least in my humble opinion) one of the best tutorials available how to create glass-products from start to finish…

Google should bring up many tutorials…
Otherwise, check out these sites:

August 17, 2011 at 2:52 am in reply to: What do you do with all the PSD’s after rendering?Either import the entire image sequence and set the default length in the Preferences.
In Final Cut Pro X “Preferences / Editing / Still Images”
(I guess, in older versions of FCP, it might be similar ?)Or assemble with QuickTime 7 Pro (File / Open Image Sequence) or else…
Then import this movie-file into FCP.Regards

Your MacBook Pro should be able to run in 64-bit Kernel Extensions…
Open the System Profiler / select Software / 64-bit Kernel Extensions might say No ?
To switch into 64 bit / Restart and hold down the 6 and 4 keys until you see the apple logo.
Check System Profiler again / 64-bit Kernel Extensions should say Yes ?
Next time you restart without holding down the 6 and 4 keys you’ll be back in 32-bit…In your Application folder select the Cinema 4D.app / Get Info.
Make sure that open in 32-bit mode is unchecked.Regards

The Extrude NURBS object extrudes a spline to create an object with depth…
A plane object is not suitable for that operation, use Structure / Extrude instead…Be aware, extruding a plane with an alpha channel applied, still extrudes the plane,
but won’t give that image any depth…As you can see in that mentioned example:
https://www.nolanscott.co.nz/Gallery/snowglobe.html
The trees are all flat, only the two iceskating characters have a little depths…
Those are drawn with the Create Polygon tool to the size of the PSD image…
Then Extruded / Create Caps checked / and the images applied with Flat Projection…Regards

Import your images into the Materials, and in the Attributes apply the Alpha-channel…
Then drag them on to similar sized Planes…
Position those Planes throughout your project…
If necessary apply a “Look At Camera Expression”…If you like, here is an example, I did as a “Christmas Card” sometime ago…
https://www.nolanscott.co.nz/Gallery/snowglobe.html
(all the trees and the two skating characters are drawn in 2D and imported)Regards

You might like and check out Magpie Pro…

but, apparently Cinema 4D is supported…Regards

Top Toolbar / Help / Help…/ Type: “Target Camera”…
It’s all explained there in great detail…Regarding Depth Of Field (DOF)…
As far as I know, either one needs the Advanced Render Module…
Or a plugin like Z-Blur…(or else):

Try this:
Create a Sphere with about 4 to 5 segments (or else)…
(maybe try an Icosahedron with 9 segments)
Make Editable… Select all polygons…
Select the Matrix Extrude from the Structure Menu..
Drag in the viewport…
Hold down the shift or control key when dragging…
If needed, drag the Sphere into a HyperNurbs…Regards
