The Drop Shadow effect can be any color you want via the Color Picker. Try adding a second instance of it and adjust to make the PNG pop out more.

I’d be surprised to see native CinemaDNG ever either as it’s barely implemented in Adobe’s own NLE. Problem is it’s basically terrible for playing back at full speed in decent performance because it’s a massive sequence of images vs. a continuous video stream. Better workflow is proxy it for FCPX and then grade to DNG in Resolve.

Generally I’d recommend you just let FCPX do this for you. You definitely don’t need to micromanage at the Finder level. Or if you want more granular control over the process this is a great app:

The camera archive is a bit nicer because it adds it into FCPX as a data source vs just being on your drive. But functionally it’s the same as what you’re already doing.

Yeah I don’t see much point in waiting. I’ve cut 4K on the current MP, MacBook Pro and iMac 5K and all blow through 4K footage in FCPX like warm butter.
