Yep what Bret said. I didn’t recommend even opening it. That’s why I only recommended render management within X. It’s reasonably possible to mess up a project by manually mucking with the bundle.

SliceX would be simpler as that’s its main function and you’re avoiding all the roundtripping.

7 to X is like learning a foreign language. Your brain will express concepts in terms of your more familiar tongue for a while as you get more comfortable and learn. Ultimately— you’ll simply think in the new language. (or not lol).

You can blow away renders from within FCPX itself. To be honest it’s generally the media itself that is the biggest amount of space.

The main differences are more control over media trimming/referencoing on export and over how Roles are exported (or not exported).
If you use it only occasionally the Lite is a good deal, if you use it daily you’ll want the full version’s capabilities as they can significantly streamline your workflow.

Depends on the codec of the footage, the number of tracks you are playing back, the capabilities of your hard drive(s) and whether you have optimized or original footage and are viewing in proxy or original quality settings. In short, kinda depends.

Make sure you are publishing the parameters for the bar’s scaling from Motion before sending back to FCPX. Almost any parameter you can adjust in Motion can be made available to FCPX.
