FCP X Back Ups: disable

August 8, 2016 at 5:49 pmYes, but why do you want to do that? Go to the Library Inspector, click Modify Settings, and set Backups to Do Not Save.

“Agreed. Although, if X backups are slowing you down and you choose to disable them (not an issue for me, but I’ve heard a few reports) you need to consider a 3rd party solution such as Backups for FCP (App Store) or Pro Versioner from Digital Rebellion.
As others note, DO NOT RUN WITHOUT BACKUPS. Sorry to shout, but doing that is lunacy. In addition to the FCP Backups, I run both the apps above. Another type of lunacy. 🙂

Not complete lunacy to disable the back ups:
The content we run through it, is deleted shortly after it’s uploaded to our platforms, then replaced within a few hours. Stopping the back ups has sped up out iMac.-Hugh

August 10, 2016 at 6:10 amOdd. The backups are tiny files. Like an XML. No media or caches. It’s only every 15 minutes so how are backups slowing you down?
