Hard to say without knowing how tight your deadlines are and how dense your projects become. Obviously the more machine you can afford the better.

You can’t program in a specific zoom level sorry. Best you can do is zoom in and out by assigning Zoom In and Zoom Out as keyboard shortcuts. Here’s how to set keyboard shortcuts- https://support.apple.com/kb/PH12727

You can assign the zoom in and zoom out shortcuts in the Keyboard shortcut editor. Then click into the viewer and use those shortcuts.

Compressor has presets for many different levels of compression. Also uploading to Vimeo and downloading the results is a quickish shortcut.

Did you try with optical flow retiming? Slowing footage down that much can reveal the limitations of the original photography- ie if a very slow shutter was used etc.

Have you tried optimizing to ProRes? Perhaps the native audio format is not unmuxable directly but a generated ProRes would be.
