Rewrap to prores is fine- the AVCHD (as long as it’s not a so called raw format) is not needed.

Lots of decoding math required for those. If you want no fans- convert them to ProRes first.

That’s entirely up to you what degree of backup would be enough. Another option would be to run your own offsite private backup server then you wouldn’t be constrained by space limits.

Actually I was referring to your connection speed. Ie if you’re on a fibre connection online backup is a great solution. Not so much if you’re on a throttled dsl.

Box/DropBox/Crashplan all have enterprise level solutions. Budget/web connection bandwidth are going to be your key considerations.

Couple things- 1- what is your disk drive type and speed? That would have a big impact on processing speed. 60 hours is a ton of footage
2 – MTS is by far the most processing intensive format to deal with. Also why do you need all 60 if it’s coming from Resolve. If it was already rough cut there, why not first media manage in Resolve so that you’re not dealing with such a massive project?Noah
