Why does rendering use space on my system disk?
I’m doing a project that is based on an external USB3 drive. (It might as well be on an internal drive other than the system drive as well). The library, project, events etc. are all on the external drive. When I render the final output (also the the external drive) I get notices from the system that my “boot drive is almost full.” Since there is no “scratch” disk to be set and all rendering takes place within the library file, why is FCPX using the boot drive during the rendering process?
MacPro 5,1 12 core 3.33ghz, 24GB RAM, OSX 10.10.5, FCPX 10.1.4
Thanks,
Gary
