Renaming shouldn’t cause any issues but it could just be a coincidence. I’d duplicate the Project Snapshot and use that.

If it’s for web and no broadcast footage is to be incorporated why do it in PAL? Do it at 24 fps and optimize for the web.

Yup sounds like this particular setup is overloaded with the Dreamcolor. I’d go for a broadcast display card such as a Blackmagic Intensity instead. Your color will be more accurate to boot.

So what’s your question? Sounds like you should go with who you can find to operate the NLEs. FCPX will definitely be the leaner more cost-effective route and is much easier to train new editors on. Then again if you have the budget to fully support and pay good experienced Avid editors you’ll get some good folks.

No need to- just optimize the clips directly within FCP.

I think I would probably end up typing those Notes much faster than fumbling around with the dictation. I’d be a lot more excited if it could read the actual waveform of the media and transcribe the waveform as text notes.

Yup love this. The one step backward in regard to Color Board for me is that now it becomes a second instance of Color Board when Copy>Pasting Attributes. So you have to be really careful if you paste a Color Board to a clip with an existing color board- you’ll now have two color corrections. I wish there would be the option to add as an additional color board effect or overwrite the existing.
