Have you already purchased this spec? That looks like the entry level model. Obviously any area you spend more $ will help future proof. I’d go at least to the 6-core with the D700s but I have no idea how much budget you have to work with.

You could copy/paste the tracks into a new Multicam clip. Basically- take one clip- File>New Multicam Clip.
Then double click into that Clip. Add Angle and copy paste each set of synced clips into a new angle. Going to take a while tho…

Sure- change Preferences>Import to Files>Leave in Place.

You could always create a Favorites Library that holds everything you reuse. But yeah- unless you’re really really tight on HD space- you get nowhere by actually deleting things like Compound Clips. Just start up a new Library or Event.

Also Color Finale is quite lovely within FCPX and avoids all of the round-tripping entirely.
