Hi, I have some questions and would be very thankful for some advice.

I have shot a short movie in AVCHD and have edited it using Final Cut Pro X version 10.0.6. Now I want to export (share) it to my hard drive but can’t do it due to the HD format of the files I suppose. So what can I do?

I read about a software “Compressor” which could deal with this – does it work for my case?
I have also read that I can transcode the files first and then “sharing” them works as normal. But do I loose the HD quality doing so? And can I transcode my entire event now and the project I’ve edited will update and allow me to share the movie or do I risk loosing my work if I transcode it now? Or maybe it has no effect?

I am also planning to shoot a full movie in July using AVCHD and want to edit it using this version of Final Cut, and I would also like to be able to make it into DVDs since many film festival require this format but I have understood that if I use dvd i loose the HD quality and have to adopt the files to SD is this right? I need BlueRay to maintain the HD? What about just exporting it to my hard drive, what do I need in order not to loose the quality of the footage?

    Thanks
    /Kalle
