Those draws are typically max- I’m guessing you’ll be fine up to 10. Though at that point a NAS or SAN would be far more efficient both in terms of electricity and performance.

What’s the channel configuration like in the Inspector? That’s how you determine whether clips are expressed as summed stereo or mono pairs, etc.

Is the question would a RAID improve performance- sure this is true in any NLE. Is it necessary to get the best out of FCPX- not at all. Though again it depends greatly on the system specs especially GPU and the media format/codec being used.
