Thanks for your time, Dave. Michael figured out a good technique for me to use. Again, thank you for your time.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for responding. The thing is I’m not using a shape layer, they’re all pre-composed individual layers. Any other ideas?

Hi Szymon, what do you mean be inherited velocity? Will I have to create a shape layer, track it to to the object and apply a particle generator after?

Thanks Kevin, your technique is nice, it didn’t come to what I wanted to achieve though. Still, I’m bound to require it some time. I finally used C4d and textured it with animating numbers horizontally that I rendered from after effects. Thanks you for your response though, truely appreciate it.

Thanks, Walter. I finally used C4D and textured it with a horizontally animating .mov. It did the trick. Thanks for your help.

  • Great! Thank you so much Kalle!!!

  • Hi Kalle,

This is great, thanks so much!! Just one more question if you don’t mind, what if I had to offset the Y position for the 100×100 comp. So, that when I duplicate the layers they appear to be floating in 3d space, you know, with an offset? I’m sorry to be asking so many questions.

  • Hi Kalle!

Thank you for your swift response. See, I’m new to expressions. I’ve mostly just copied and pasted. Can you suggest me an expression that might work for this?

    Hi John,

Thank you for your response! I tried plexus, it works great! It even offers DOF. It’s just such a pain to manually connect the lines from null to null. Rather than a random streak I require the line to hit certain layers before it hits others. Anyhow I’ve been breaking my head over this and this is the closest that has come to achieving what I want.

    Thanks a ton!
