Hi again,

I have found a video effect in PP2 called ‘Field Interpolate’, in the ‘Video’ folder under the Video Effects list.

It seems to do the trick of applying the deinterlace to the selected video parts that I apply it to.

Is it ok to then export the video interlaced (the deinterlace box unticked) so that the text is clear and the video is deinterlaced from the video effect? Will there be any complications when playing the video on a PC?

oh – the other thing is that the widescreen TV is actually a large computer monitor (about 45inch), so if I right about this, the normal TV safe margins don’t apply here.

THat’s really helpful thank you.

I’m exporting the videos as I type, damn it takes a long time.

But as soon as its done i’ll give it a go and import into Encore, and hope they link up ok. This is the first time I have used encore, so will be interesting to see.

Hi Guys,

Thanks mbelli for the Procoder recommendation, I’ve downloaded the demo and will give it a go.

However I think I found a solution – Hoorraaaa!

I did the following:
File > Export > Adobe Media Encoder >> QuickTime >> Apple DV – PAL (codec)
This created 7 quicktime files all set for different modem speeds.
The files ranged from ‘1 Mbps Cable.mov’ (34mb in size) to ’56 Kbps Modem ISDN.mov'(1.1 mb in size).

The quality was the bet I’ve seen so far and didn’t explode in size e.g. 1.5gb, which I was getting before.

The only thing I couldn’t figure out, was that the files were saved in my top level :C drive, and not in the folder I thought I saved it in. Oh well!?!

Hope that helps anyone doing the same stuff.

I’ll give Procoder a demo as it talked about being able to act as a plug-in in PremPro and may give even better results?

Thanks for the suggestion.

If I’ve read your reply correctly – I’ll try exporting it to .mov using the ‘DV Pal’ setting.

Just to confirm, I’ll do this by going File>Export>Movie >> Quciktime>> DVPal Format. The project was set up as a DV Pal (I’m based in the UK)

I’ll have to leave it over time exporting as it takes a little while. I’ll let you know how it goes.
