I think so. I did not work yet with 2K and the MBE. Only in after effects.
To the monitoring of 2K-Material nevertheless a Cinema Desktop Preview is completely sufficient.
Main thing of the computers plays it correctly.
Importantly also that the monitor is correctly calibrated.
I know now no extra hardware for 2K input and output.
Perhaps but I still another feature of my MBE surveyed. 😉

Exactly, it is a feature of the DVI standard. For this output I do not need a Multibridge Extreme. A current Graphiccard (Nvidia or Ati) carries exactly the necessities out. With FCP one can work on 2K now already somehow. But with FCExtreme treatment of real times will be possible.
A MBE (we have also one) is intended for treatment of SD and hp. Only the Desktop-Extension functions evenly also with a 30″-Display.
Sorry for my bad English, I can do it not better 😉

    “yes – this will work.
BUT, you can use a cheapo analog audio mixer just for monitoring your audio, and simply send the embedded audio between your Blackmagic and your SDI VTR thru the SDI video cable !”

    thanx.
We did not attach permanently one SDI-VTR. And the Behringer digital mixer is amazingly cheap. We use that also for the a speaking.
We do not use that direct analog signal of the Multibridge, because the A-d/d-A transformation takes place after SMPTE (-18dbfs = 0db(r)). Here in Germany we work after EBU and “radio house standard level – Funkhausnormpegel” (-9dbfs = 0db(r) = +6dbu).
    Everything not so simply… 😉

    Greetings,
    Nico
