I have a licensed music library (Killer Tracks). Put the disc in the drive. “Get CD Track Names” from the advanced menu. Most of Killer Tracks are on CDDB. Set import format to aiff 48K. Import track or tracks into iTunes. Preview music in iTunes. Right click (control click) on chosen clip in iTunes. Choose show in Finder. Drag chosen clip from finder to project bin. Drop clip from bin to timeline. Bob is your uncle.

I’ve gotten very clean keys with the internal keyers in FCP using DV25. Just make sure they’re well lit.

  • Turn off range check > excess luma. I have identical systems with Decklink SP capture cards. One does this when range check is on and one doesn’t. Black Magic tech support said this is a known bug that they are working on.

Use Quicktime Pro to export an image sequence and then choose the files you want. You can set up actions in Photoshop to batch process the files you choose.

Do you have the latest drivers? I had this problem with an earlier version of the BMD drivers, but not with the latest.

Drop your final sequence into an new empty sequence and apply the “Broadcast Safe” filter. You won’t have to re-do each title that way.

October 31, 2005 at 6:14 pm in reply to: DeckLink 5.1.2 Macintosh drivers released

I installed the new drivers and had a problem.

When I played from the timeline everything was fine, but when I paused, the mid-range blacks jumped up 5 or so IRE.

When I played again the mids dropped back down to normal levels. Only the mids seemed to be affected as the highlights and low blacks did not change.

Had to re-install 5.0 drivers to continue working and haven’t had time to try again.

    Is this a known problem?

G5 dual 2.7, 4 GB RAM, Decklink SP
