    Hi Michael,
I have have had exactly the same problems with speed changes. Good to hear that it seems to be fixed in FCP7 but like you annoyed that it is intel only. We have G5s here that work fine for documentaries, that will be useless for FCP, and Snow leopard for that matter. Looks like Apple will be making us all buy nice shiny new machines…

Arnie is right, But almost any camera with a firewire out port (also called iLink or IEEE1394) will work with FCP. I use an old sony consumer handycam sometimes.

    Hi Oren,
the tool here is EQ. There are various EQ plug ins with FCP. But search on google for the best way to use them. It can be tricky

September 16, 2009 at 1:48 pm in reply to: Photoshop file for FCP

    Hi Colleen,
it is probly cos FCP doesnt handle that size very well. With the Photoshop file in the timeline, highlight it, press return (dont double click), and it will open up in the viewer. You can then do a number of things. Use the motion tab zoom and distort settings (aspect) to resize the image to the correct width and height.

Or use a good free plug in called Andys Better 3d to resize

    cheers

    HI Derek,
i have to say the massive price of the apple screens makes it a no brainer. Get 2 dells and use the spare cash for a fridge! The picture quality is still great, although to be honest the only picture quality that matters is on the external monitor driven by your Kona card.

    HI David and Matias,
It sounds like a clean reinstall is the best option. Make sure you repair permissions and run all updates, and then repair permissions again. FCP6 works for me on 6 machines, even on G4s and Macminis as well as MacPros, without the problems you have mentioned, so there is hope. Keep plugging away and all will come good!

I have had my first of my 10 Iomegas for 3 years, and it seems fine. The fan doesn make a noise, but i have it either under a table or behind me so the noise isnt a problem. I do prefer drives with fans in, they need to be kept cool or else they fry!

I have a Gtech GRaid that has been working happily for 5 years now. But i also use 10 iomega 1tb drives, are excellent , and their customer support is amazing. One drive died and they replaced it after warranty free of charge. cant say better than that. (When i say the drive died, the actual drive was fine, i took it out and saved all the media, it was just the casing that died.)
