Sound leveling in FCP
Hi all,
I’m editing a footage I shot. I recorded two channels of audio:
1. Main out from the sound desk.
2. external mic on my camera.On the main out from the sound desk a DJ was playing under people talking. what will be the best way to get the background music lower. I tried to split the channels and play with the levels separately. Is any of the sound effects would help here?
Any help is welcome.

the tool here is EQ. There are various EQ plug ins with FCP. But search on google for the best way to use them. It can be trickynick

I didn’t mix the the channels of my camera while I was shooting but the channel from the sound desk was the main out and the soundman played some music under the voice. I used a wireless mic to record the sound desk channel and it was a small simple sound desk so the soundman couldn’t split the out for me.
So now in post I have one channel my external mic that the sound on it is ok but changing because I was moving and second channel with the speakers voice and music background. Each speaker talked for 10 min and I’m making a 2 min for each but the music at the background sound bad.

Do you know if any of the sound effect in FCP are any good to make it a bit better?Thanks
