Thanks. I’ll do some experimenting. Maybe I’ll go to the Apple store first and get a new laptop.

I was attempting to play the program. Since posting the first question I haven’t had problems. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Floh. I will download the trial version today. I’m doing some traveling this week and I’ll test it on the road. I”m sure my old Powerbook G4 will have some speed issues but maybe I can muddle through.

Hi. Basically, I went to each project folder and Media 100 folder (prefs, etc.) and changed the ownership. You can do this by opening the “get info” window, at the bottom of the window expand the “Ownership and Permission” tab, expand the “details” tab and change the ownership to the correct user. Be sure to make use of the “apply to enclosed items” button at the bottom – this seems to make the changes to all items in the folder.

You could possibly try this approach on the entire hard drive – I didn’t know if this would have unwanted results so I did not.

Thanks Floh. That did the trick. Will you be around the Media 100 booth at NAB? I’d like to thank you in person sometime for all of the help you give out on the Cow.

I should have also mentioned that I created a new user as part of the upgrade, but I believe I’ve transferred the proper files into the new user folder.

I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I hear favorable comments about Sorenson’s Squeeze.

Thanks, John. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for news. Do you think there are enough Media 100 users out there for this to be profitable for Boris? I don’t seen people who have already jumped ship coming back unless the product is amazing and the price is in line with an FCP/AJA system.
