Anybody using Cleaner for web compression?
Posted by Chris Stevens on October 13, 2005 at 10:54 amIt seems that Autodesk has stopped development on Cleaner? Is there anything else (for OSX) which does the same job?

October 13, 2005 at 3:54 pmI haven’t tried it myself yet, but I hear favorable comments about Sorenson’s Squeeze.

October 13, 2005 at 5:09 pmUsing Squeexe with the Flip4Mac plugin here on OSX. Does everything.
On the PC side, prior to the release of Flip, was using Procoder for WMV9
content.
Anything but Cleaner, which has been dying on the vine for quite awhile now, regrettably. It was a solid product at one time.Jim

October 15, 2005 at 10:41 amMany people here are praising Bit Vice for compression prior to burning a DVD, how does one get it? Is it necessary if you have DVD Studio Pro 4 which has just arrived with my new HD Version 10?
Any suggestions would be appreciated as at present I have someone compress and burn DVD’s for me and I have had no compatibility problems so far. -

October 15, 2005 at 4:36 pmThanks Floh, but does that mean that with Media 100 HD I should not rely on Studio Pro 4 to compress but do it with BitVice? Since I don’t need chapters I really don’t need to use Studio Pro for DVD’s at all then?

October 16, 2005 at 1:26 amI have a Mac so I am using Quicktime Pro and Flip for Mac as a plug in and it works great. QT Pro $29.95 and Flip4Mac $99. A lot cheaper than Sorenson Squeeze or Cleaner.
