July 4, 2006 at 10:28 pm in reply to: SATA or SCSI raid drives better for FCP?

    Hi Alan,

I’ve just ordered a 2TB Lacie SATA 4 Disk Array and after reading this I’m thinking about canceling it. I don’t know anything about the SATA to Fibre option. Are there any brands/models you can point me to? I’m not sure if the seagate model you referenced is Sata to Fibre but I would like to investigate this before my drive ships.

    Thanks,

Thanks David. I checked and they are formatted MacOS Extended. I’m moving from my drive to a client’s drive. I guess I’ll just pull that video in again because I just can’t figure out how to copy it.

March 18, 2006 at 11:43 pm in reply to: DV Cam signal?

    Hi,

I’m trying to print to tape (minidv) but I need to do it in DVCAM. I’m not having much luck with the manual and i can’t seem to figure out how to do this. There is no sequence setting for DVCAM and I don’t see it in the options under “Print to Tape”. How do I get a sequence that was done in DV NTSC 48khz to a minidv tape in dvcam?

I’m trying to submit this to access tv for someone and they require DVCAm. My deck is minidv only.

    Thanks,

February 13, 2006 at 12:59 am in reply to: Muliti-Cam shot with different aspect ratios….

ok – so I’ve done something stupid here and am trying to figure a way out…..

I started editing this thing already.

The sequence is anamorphic. I have the anamorphic video on a separate line from the non-anamorphic. The non-anamorphic is ofcourse pillarboxed because it is in a anamorphic sequence. I know how to fix this if I start all over again but I spent a lot of time editing already.

The director would prefer I crop the anamorphic shots. Is there any way to save what I have already done?

    Thanks,

Hi I was able to capture 30F with Final Cut Pro using capture now and edit the footage in a 1080i60 sequence. I was also able to capture 24F using DVXDV and then convert it to Quicktime and use that in a 1080i60 sequence.

The only problem so far is that it needs to render everything. Bringing the clips into the sequence requires a lot of rendering as does just about any change to the clips. Anyone have any ideas on workarounds? The sequence settings do match the capture settings.

    Thanks,

Hi, Thanks. We are shooting this afternoon so still time to change format. As far as the workflow for 60i, according to a previous post.

“our workflow is to shoot in HDV and edit in FCP in the DVC pro HD 100 format 1080i ”

I’m looking through the capture presets and my options are

    DVCPRO HD 1080i50
    DVCPRO HD 1080i60

any suggestions on which to use?

    Thanks,
    Neobe
