Like I mentioned, I talked with a rep via their sales support chat and they said no. I looked at the requirements and there are different price structures to upgrade from different suites. You would think if you have Photoshop and just purchase and upgrade, you should be able to put in your old number. I have never upgraded with adobe only FCP and you have to have your old serial number.
I would want anyone to upgrade to the whole suite if I was a developer. You could get them hooked on more products. I would use on location if it worked as well as they say it does for HD capture and use of scopes.

you are correct sir. I found the last generation for about 1800.00 with a 2.55Ghz chipset.
So does Apple have a clue that they are not going to sell many of these to guys like us. Even if we have other cameras and don’t use P2, we still have to get to our drives and I/O cards when we are on the road.
Will there be anything that can go into the SD card slot? I would hope not. It would be thin and can easily break!

Hi Greg,
It has been a few weeks, but I am about to get back on my fan project. Per your post:
—–I think you want to find an old fan that’s metal. Metal blades for sure and good mechanical sounds. Experiment with the speeds. Use the TLM to get a good general sound and move the shotgun around to isolate specific sweetener sounds. Try placing the shotgun directly above the fan cage, so the blades move on and off axis. It’s the sense of oscillation that will give you the effect you want.—–
Can I try to run the TLM103 and shotgun mic at the same time, on two channels and see what I get. I don’t know if that is practical for not. A friend suggested it. I have an old fan from ebay and am going to see what I can do with it. Since I am a video guy and VO actor, I know little about folly. Is there a specific way to loop sounds? I haven’t been able to find too much on it. After I get the take a want, I have to loop these together to get a few minutes of the fan. Again, I have only looped with pre recorded instrument loops and not sound I have created. is there some theory to looping sounds?

PS I am looking at this one https://www.satasite.com/sonnet-tempo-e2p-esata-pcie-card.htm.
Sorry I can’t seem to edit the last post.
Is this card bootable?

I have it running into a yamaha mixer. I have phantom power turned on. I know I can get good signal on the mic, because I am a vo actor and use the neumann and I also use the boom for indie film projects.
The yamaha mixer runs to a MBOX then USB into a MAC.

I am not too experienced in foley audio. I tried distance and mid, and also tried two fans. One thing, I can’t get a lot of gain in the mic. either the TLM103 or shotgun. I boost the trim, but get a lot of ambient sound. Should I boost the levels and add a gate? I have to normalize my sound to get it up to about -12db and it brings everything up with it.
Again I am inexperienced in foley, and I am doing a lot of trial and error.

It was a complete walk though and it worked for me. In addition to taking out a few permissions there were a few other files to delete. Let me see if I can find the file. I don’t use win very much, do it has been months since I fixed it.

I am thinking about a complete re-wipe and install, but I can’t have the G5 down for any amount of time for the next two weeks.
I don’t want to go up to leopard until I buy a new MAC. I would have to upgrade Pro toos and other apps, and even though I have work right now, I can’t afford an extra 1000 bucks on software. I need to put it into hardware and I would be closer to a new mac anyway.
I bought FCP2 though mega macs…I can’t get any help there.
I appreciate your help, but the app shouldn’t be this buggy, even after two years out.
Again I went into my library folder to see if I could rip out files (via the white paper apple put out to fix the app) and the second file wasn’t even there.

I didn’t get anywhere and compressor still won’t work, even after three installs. I am about to pull my hair out. Apple will not give me support at all.
