I am saving up for a new powermac and raid array, but had to buy a lacie g2 quadra to get FW800 thoughput.

Anyway I am on a G5PPC dual 2.0, 10.4.1 and the lacie has up to 3Gbits transfer with esata. Would I get better performance with esata? I have FCP2 and keep my HD at 720 DVC Pro.

If so can anyone suggest a decent esata card around 50-75 bucks. I am trying to get better performance without breaking the back for my next mac. I was looking at the sonnet cards that were around 50 bucks.

PS I am looking at this one https://www.satasite.com/sonnet-tempo-e2p-esata-pcie-card.htm.

Sorry I can’t seem to edit the last post.

    Is this card bootable?
