Thanks David. This thing works well. I have to pull back my audio level about 2db because I am hitting the red in a few areas, but this did the trick.

With the contrast and brightness how do I then adjust
The bars on the display to get the correct contrast and color. I don’t want to “eyeball” it

I gave up with instant HD and used compressor. Instant HD looked horrible via after effects and compressor took 480 30p to DCVCPRO HD720 60p very nicely. I drop a clip shot at 720 in the timeline and added my upconverted clip and it was very hard to tell which clip was which.

I think I will stay with compressor.

Thanks, I did eventually find it on blips site. I used MPEG Streamclip, but I was worried about compressing too much and having a blurry file. I just wanted to get some advice from here.

The three way is just not working for me. I am not trained in color and can’t go there right now.

I can’t find the specs anywhere on the ROWA. The Rycote looks a bit sturdier, but it is 4 inches wide. That is not a lot of room. It would actually be nice to pack a light between two mics with a manfrotto extension for the light.

Let me know if you know anything about the ROWA in width.

I was also told it is a 10 bit out. I am using a DMC console that has DV inputs. It the camera’s DV downconversion so bad that it wouldn’t look good as Video Assist playback. The agency is hooked on HD, but they know we do have HD rigs, so they are used to seeing down the tap of a 35mm camera.

Will the downconversion get us by? I really wished I had the camera to plug it into the VTR console to see for myself. The shoot is in two days.
