    Cool thanks,

I saw some FW cases and they ran in conjuction with USB. Can FW power the notebook drive, or does it need USB to power it. I am trying to be able to take a drive and hook it up to my G4 at a coffee shop without having to carry ab powerbar.

    Thanks,

Actually I figured it out. I had my sequence preset on 24p while trying to capture and edit 60i. I must have been screwing around with 24p some time ago, and the new session didn’t default back everytime I create a session. Other than that, the DVD looks good on playback.

I recoreded in 60i, but I did find that if you have the preset sequence other than that format you recorded in, you are goingto have trouble. I reset the preset to DV NTSC and captured from a 100B in both my G4 and G5, burned the footage to DVD and I see video that is clear as day. No ghost images. I assume if you have the wrong sequence preset anything that is dropped on the timeline will be made to conform to that preset. Thus, my 60i, was trying to become 24 giving me the jittert frames. I am just out of film school and I just learned a lot

    Thanks AGAIN,

It looks like I can’t set Free Run on my GS-120, so I am going to have to use the sticks.

I was able to use the remote of my Panasonic GS 120 and it started the 120 and the 100B in the record mode. Just to cover all my bases: starting with fresh tapes, do you thing they will start to record at the same time (exact TC), or would this be a feature of “2” 100Bs? I don’t have time to capture the footage and look at in since I have to head out for a shoot. Should I still use sticks -clap board as a backup? I will have to look in the manual for the timecode “freerun” function.

    Thanks,

That sounds logical to me. You would think for the money, they would make this “fool Proof”

May 12, 2006 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Adding or converting .vob files

    Cool, that works.

I am new to .vob files. I always let DVD Studio do the work. There were 5 chapters on the old DVD. I have 4 .vob files. I converted the first one and it gave me the whole half hour show. It also added two hours to my file (in black) I had to trim itin FCP. Any reason this happens, and which .vob files contains all the material in the DVD? Do the other ones have segments of the show e.g. chapters.

    Thanks in advance.
