  • Adding or converting .vob files

I have an older DVD that I needed to pull some material from for a new project. I Found MAC the Ripper and have a set of files including 4 .vob files. How do I convert or get these into FCP and arrange them so I can send a .mov file to DVD Studio to burn along with my other material. Or is there another way?

    Thanks in advance.

If you don’t need to edit them, I’d skip FCP. Google “MPEG Streamclip” (a free application) With this, you’ll be able to demux a MPEG-2 file and a aiff and bring those straight into DVDSP without any re-encoding.

    Cool, that works.

I am new to .vob files. I always let DVD Studio do the work. There were 5 chapters on the old DVD. I have 4 .vob files. I converted the first one and it gave me the whole half hour show. It also added two hours to my file (in black) I had to trim itin FCP. Any reason this happens, and which .vob files contains all the material in the DVD? Do the other ones have segments of the show e.g. chapters.

    Thanks in advance.
