  • I have been wondering the same thing.

It does seem that if you are backing up to a remote volume, (but not with ChrononSync Agent), so backing up to a NAS, then Chronosync with revert back to Standard handling any way .

    See this link

    https://www.econtechnologies.com/chronosync/TN-CS-package-conundrum.html

  • OK, thanks for the info.
Yes I guess the noise maybe a bit random.

May just be easier to get better mics/mic placement.

  • If I am reading correctlly, the OP has alresdy looked where that link suggests, SysPrefs, Keyboard , Shortcuts.

A link embedded within the page previously linked to,
    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18424?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US

Suggests any conflicts will apoear with Yello Exclamationmark

If that is not happening, then it sounds like a more deep routed cause.

I’d maybe try using that short cut combo, wirh FVPX closed. All apps closefd and see what happens.

Msybe the okd trick of creating a new user to see if it will work in FCPX when logged in as new user.

That might at least pin diwn the issue to ‘System’ or User

    Thanks Gents, all useful thanks

Yes, I tend to prefer text as you can scan / skip speed read a load of stuff and get to the bit you are not sure about. I get too annoyed with video tutorial, talking to the screen tellign the presenter..Oh com eon hurry up, I know how to open a file/ library or what ver it may be.
TBH, never thought of the I’m built help files this time, so many times it has failed me in the past .

I see the overview of multicam in the help does seem to be what I was looking for

This is my idea of a good video tutorial:

    Yes, very poor net connection.
    Copper phone line, no fibre.
supposed to be 20 Mb connection but barely get 8 and even that drops out.

Tried for 6 hours the other day to download a 1Gb iPhoto update. Had to restart countless times .

Suppsed to be getting fixed but I am getting sick of complaining.

I do loathe video tutorials too, most of them are so full of waffle and you waste 5 minutes watching before thry actually tell you anything useful. Even more annoying waiting for the buffering/ downloading etc.

    Thsnks
    I’ll try that.

Whenever I do a sesrch for anything, it is always the bideos thag I ignore. They tend to be so full of soperflous waffle . You will have watched 2 mins and still not been told anything. A few still images and text often enough, for very many subjects. Everyone lesrns differrntly I suppose and others have a much greater bullS**t thrrshold. I am not making comments on the videos here, as I have not seen them, just talking genetically. 🙂

This msybe a paid job , but certainly not big money .

    Thanks for the lonk

ypu should open that 17 inch MBP up and give it a good cleaning /blowing inside. Maybe even see if you can detach the CPU heatsink, clean and put new thermal compound. I can’t ssy 100 % that it does dry out and loose thermal efficiency, but that is whst I believe can happen.

Prrvent overheating with SMC Fan Control app.

I just crank the speeds up to 85% and it keeps temps down below 28-30 deg C

Well I don’t buy new often.

My main windows laptop is still my 200;3 Sony Vaio. Only use it for one purpose now, once every fee months, but otherwisesgill running fine.

When I bought the 3.1 I bought way overspec for what I needed. The decision to go Mac was a bit ‘odd’ The Girlfriend liked their shiny screens ! And then the Apple store screwed me over and I did not get the shiney Apple screen!

So anything I can do to keep it or a similar style model like a 5.1 running with the rest of the kit the same, the better.
