im not on a SAN or shared storage setup. All local drives either esata or firewire 800 or internal.
working at any framerate although most everything here is XDCAM HD 422 60i.
Final cut has access to all the drives, but even when copying files from drives that FCP doesnt need to access,ie no files from that drive are in the prject and not set for scrath disk use, it still beach balls.

Went full force with Avid 6, as it made sense cause while my home office/freelance setup has always been FCP 7, work has always been MC, it didn’t cost a lot to make the transition and it was pretty much painless.
Still have a couple lingering FCP 7 projects. Been poking FCP X with a stick, dabbling in each of the updates. Still not sold on it yet, but am hoping it becomes a great tool to one day that i can find a use for.
Havent touched PPr 6 yet. Looks cool but don’t really see a reason to dive in yet, MC 6 is working great, roundtripping with Resolve is working pretty good, and stuff is getting done faster than i did with FCP 7 and color.

June 22, 2012 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Still no good Media Composer 6 Drivers for BM cards and boxes. Thanks Gunther! I wish i could justify buying the Nitris for my home setup, but i just cant, hence why i went with BM cards.
Its a bummer, it seems like AJA and even Matrox now have updated drivers that people are using, yet BM keeps releasing drivers with no fixes for MC 6.

the clips effects probably need to be rendered. Even if its showing a green dot on the clip, something nested, could be blue. try it out .
