Makes sense, which is why they did it, but it’d be nice if there was a standard shortcut to get to the actual end of the layer, perhaps Shift+O if it’s not already taken.
From what I know, you can’t customize shortcuts in AE the way you can in PS, but perhaps that’s coming in AE 7, when it eventually arrives.

Since we don’t really know what’s in AE7 yet, I’d wait until there’s more info if you need the product now. Otherwise, I’d wait, because Adobe has acquired the licensing for Curious gFX, a solid rotoscoping tool, and rumors are that it will be part of AE7.

The footage is turning black. When I put a red solid behind it, nothing.
However, here’s where it gets wierd. When I right click on the movie clip in the Project window and go to Interpret Footage>Main, the Alpha settings portion of the window is grayed out. I cannot select “Ignore”, or anything for that matter (and nothing appears to be selected by default).
What gives? (The clip is a .mov file…I wonder if it has anything to do with the QT7).

So what do you recommend? Curious gFx?

I’ve used Trapcode Particular for smoke effects, and it’s worked pretty good. Be prepared to have A LOT of RAM or time for the rendering.

From my experience, LCDs are far better than CRTs (and they take up a hell of a lot less space).

The only way I know of is to do it manually. Sucks, yes. The Align & Distribute palette only works in 2D.
There may be a way to do it with Expressions, but I know little about that area.
