March 13, 2007 at 3:08 pm in reply to: how to make a realistic neon sign? (tutorial?)I`m not familiar with 32 bit mode…how can I activate it? I do have 7 pro, but see nothing about 32 bit when creating compositions

March 12, 2007 at 9:02 pm in reply to: how to make a realistic neon sign? (tutorial?)How do i import a path? You see the guy in the art department made the neon AI just as an open path that has several layers of stroke on it (for web still image use only). So how do I get that path into AE to try what you said? If I paste it on a solid it doesn`t mask because its not a closed path. So how can I put the path on a transparent background so the Neon sign can eventually be a motion design element in the corner of a video?

whew! thank god it was something that easy…it used to default being turned on….grrr…i was ready to cry thinking I corrupted AE yesterday with uninstallong some other software. Thanks

February 23, 2007 at 11:00 pm in reply to: Exporting Microsoft Uncompressed AVI – player has no videoi don`t have a problem at home using dv footage, ae art created vids etc, but trying it with DV and PPro 2 it doesn`t work and i`m baffled. I wanted to test more of the export options from PPro 2 which i`m finding all are very low quality if they even work at all. Just wanted to export uncompressed AVI to bring into squeeze.

so it still needs to be 2 seperate .psd files though right? Its close enough to what i need if thats the case

i exported with the uncompressed microsoft uncompressed AVI with 10 bit YUV and windows media player 11 (just upgraded) still won`t play it, yet I can import it into premiere and AE and see the image fine. How can i get sorenson squeeze and WMP to see the video? I`m going insane!

January 26, 2007 at 3:58 pm in reply to: Linking audio to mimic video movement (track numbers)I should have said i`m using PPRO 2.0
It doesn`t, when i drag the video to different tracks the audio follows it left and right, but remains on the same track and over writes any other audion it lapses. Very inconvenient for lots of short clips that need re-arranging.

January 24, 2007 at 4:23 pm in reply to: Not sure about Aspect ration mixing etc in an HDV projectI`ll have to keep it in mind. QT is fine with playing ‘odd shaped’ files, its playing them widescreen. I compressed the QT with sorenson squeeze. But when I do the exact same thing from the same source for avi or wmv, windows media player doesn`t accomdate :\ Makes it tough to share. FLV also preserves the widescreen which is handy.
