Hmm turns out to be I think they were too large? Maybe because they were JPG straight from the Canon camera, or just file size….weird issue.

Ok i tried turning down the weight of the emitter to 0, and turned the weight of the particles way up, but the particles don`t fall. Could you also explain the relation to me of how to use the variations with what is happening? The emitter properties obviously don`t have the variation controls, but the particle properties don’t seem to affect how the particles are reacting unless the emitter property is great than 0? But if adjusting lets say the weight in the emitter, again I don’t get to stop it from emitting them very slow. I’m confused.

oh my, Now I have a small problem. I have been adjusting everything in the emitter to get it how I want. Is that not a good way to do it? Like I adjusted the particle size, weight, etc. Or should I rebuild using the particles? I’d imagine that gives better control. Oh the pains of learning on my own heh. Thanks for your help btw.

I tried them all with no luck. Is there a setting I need to turn on first?

  • the only work around I found when rendering and it gets an error it logs the error in the ‘events’ window. Find the file that returned the empty frame on the timeline, right click ‘reveal in project’, then in the project window right click and ‘make offline – file stays on disk’, then right click and re-link the file. Rinse repeat for any other time it happens. Sucks when you have a 20 minute short film because it seems to do it at random.
