Dave, I have dragged the locked P2 files to the trash holding the option Key… and then you empty trash and trash prompts you to hold down the option key > enter, hold down the option key > enter over and over again…

until then, I use the Addonics 4 port esata PM card with the Addonics 4 bay esata budget case.

Makes for a great 2TB raid.(4×500). All for less than a Grand.. The only time I have had trouble with it is when I bumped the connections.between the raid enclosure and the computer. esata connections don’t bump..when running….

It is not a raid 5 like my old Medea,, so I backup everything… and it has been one heck of a raid for the price.

Thanks guys for the help. I found the setting in Compressor > Inspector that allows for a Mpg transport stream. The only problem is that I could not play back that file to check the quality for some reason. (FCP-5.1.4) So I used Sorenson Squeese 4.0 to do the mpeg conversion. It took seven attempts before I found a formula that looked almost as good as the FCP QT. It seems the mid tones went a tad darker too.

The magic formula I used for Squeeze Mpg2 conversion is, 1 pass CBR / data rate 3000kpbs / ntsc / 720×480 / Frame rate 29.97 / pixel Aspect Square Pixel / Progressive / I frame rate 18 frames…

Thanks for your help.. It pointed me in the right direction. Time Warner excepted it.. Total file size for 30sec tv spot with slate was 21.9mb. I hope it looks great on the clients home TV. I would have to drive 3 hours to check it out in their environment and thats not happening…

I decided to be brave and save a lot of money. Yes, I was planning on backing everything up to single hard drives… so a raid 5 is not so critical.. So I went in search of budget raids and found it at Addonics .com, yep you have to assemble it your self. The enclosure for a four drive raid is under $200 (about 170 if I remember correctly) and the raid card is under $200 also. This is port multiplier technology and it is working great. I just added sub $100 Western Digital 500gb satas to it and everything was well under a grand US. It has been up and running since July. The only problem I have had is when I was in the rack behind the Mac and the raid and knocked the sata plug. The sata plugs are not real impressive by nature and knocking it loose. knocked the raid out. So I have had to do one data rebuild in 6 months.. not bad for under a $1,000 bucks for a 2 TB raid.

Yep, nobody shares the love like Jan C…. She told me not to buy the NAB HPx500 Demo at demo rates but buy a new HPX500 with rebate because it would be a better price and full warranty..

Nobody in this business has ever saved me money like that…

Just like Steve, my experience was the same.. A solid rebate program.. I have been scammed before on rebates and Pannys had me nervous… It was a months rent I was betting on the rebate and I needed the rent..

Best camera I ever purchased HPX500 with the best rebate 2K ever…. And if they have the same rebate this spring, I might just buy another 500..

I was hoping somebody would have a magic trick, that might start with taking the HVX200 video out into the HPX500 Time-code / reference in and voila… it all syncs…
