The Mac Mini is a step in the right direction but Apple are telling us that H.264 playback requires a G5. (s’funny, I thought they were offboarding it all to the GPU) The thing’s too small to fit a G5 processor if what they tell us about laptops is true which leaves us with SD only.

Take the LCD out of an iMac and drop the motherboard in a 430mm wide box. Perfect:-)) It would take Apple such little effort to do this.

It’s just so odd to be a Mac user and be considering building my own and writing Apple Scripts to make it work.

    Hope they’re reading this.

Sounds like it’s time to backup and buy a new HDD.

Might pay to run Disk Warrior over the system before hand to help ensure the data can be accessed.

    Hi Juan

Perhaps not all but I’d guess the great majority. My problem came when asked to actually name names. Of course, if I were a real producer I would have just bull sh—ed.

Good point Matte, didn’t mean to argue.

I just had a picture of Nash working on the back, only to have it pop into nothingness a day or so later.

    Thanks Michael

I knew it was really common but the guy asked me for titles and I couldn’t lay my mind to a one. Located Downunder means I’m not up with this kinda insider goss.

I guess this shows me up as a beginner producer. Any producer worth his salt would have just lied:-)

BTW, if you do use the Autosave version, make sure you duplicate it, rename it to the original project name and replace the former version with it in the correct directory (folder). If you don’t do this FCP will create a whole new set of folders for capture scratch and renders PLUS if you don’t remove the Autosave created file name, FCP will automatically delete the project when its time is up. Can be very upsetting after you’ve worked on it for a day!

    Couple things to try:

    1. Type cmd-3.

    2. Go to menu Window>Arrange and set to standard or dual screen (whichever’s applicable)

    3. If neither of these help, try duplicating the sequence in the bin and see if the new sequence behaves itself.

    Good luck.

Guys. The updated site looks very, very cool. I know you’ll sort the granma and spillung oit in due course but the design and photography are first class.

BTW, I don’t remember that bridge outside the office – suppose it was needed after all the rain;-)
