Enable “auto orient” for the layer. Works as a align to path in 2D. Will look strange though, depending on the style of your flare – lensflares do not rotate.

Not sure what you are trying to do (people actually do not move the head that much when walking, it’s a mere compensation reaction for pelvis twist up the spine), but why not simply animate one cycle and then use loopOut(“cycle”,0)?

This may not show up during work as you often will not hit the exact critical keyframe. Could be any number of things from a layer trimmed after applying an expression to damaged footage.

Yes, Particular or 3DStroke. When using Particular, use only a few particles, emit them all at the first frame, but let them have no velocity at all. This way they will be “stuck” to the emitter position, which you can freely animate. Now all you need is to tweak their look and enable the Aux system to draw the actual trails.

Not sure what you are getting at… Light sweeps have always been created this way befor someone decided to code them as a plugin. The only difference is that you create the masks on a separate layer from the gradient. You use the masked layer as a matte and then move the gradient below it.

November 20, 2006 at 6:10 pm in reply to: is there any software that could render your 1 big movie clips in to smaller parts?ProCoder and Cleaner as well as other, even more expensive tools have Batch processing/ watch folders. Set up once, use forever. Other than that, chopping it up in AE is not too much trouble, I think. After all, it’s just 12 clips.

Select the position keyframes, copy to the clipboard, select the mask pen tool, draw at least one mask point, then paste your data into that mask and you’ll have perfectly aligned shapes.

[torandell9] “Would help me a lots if i couls see the graph editor, but i don’t know how to show it at AE7…”
Umm, it’s one big fat button at the top of the timeline window. Not sure if it needs to blink to be seen by you *g*. I’m also not sure what you mean by not being able to use ReTimer or Twixtor – for all intents and purposes you should never ever stretch sound in AE. Prepare the audio externally in apps that can really handle this without entirely screwing the pitch and volume., then import that distorted file in AE for reference. So with that out of the way, it’s pretty much just a matter of taste how you proceed from there.
