  • I’ve got some pre-made expression driven setups, but I’m not giving them away for free. If’ you’re interested and can afford donating a few bucks on PayPal, just drop me a line.

  • Nope, can’t do. All references to layers have to already exist. Anyway, I don’t think that it would be wise if AE always updated things. It may not look like that, but there’s a reason it doesn’t continuously check and import new layers.

  • Apart from what the others said, I also think the network rendering ability is only part of the Professional package.

If it’s Bezier keyframes, the interpolation will do that.

  • Or you could use PowerPicker from FNord which does exactly what you want and provides a much better way of color selection in general.

Nope, neither AE or combustion* will do the trick. AE’s expressions cannot access masks or per-pixel information and combustion*’s particles are “dumb” – they don’t interact with each other and hence cannot be stacked. Depending on the complexity you could get away with stacking your images manually and apply an expression that will make them “fall” towards the top. With a Null object and methods such as ease() in your expression you could control which layers move first and animate everything easily. Then play everything in reverse et-voil

Yes and no. In a way the problem still remains even if you closely watch the scopes and adjust your settings – AE works in RGB whereas most editing systems think in the limited YUV space. All a plugin can do is mimic that behavior, but this is a mere mathematical process and not necessarily represents the needs and calibration of the editing system you are using. So there is always a good chance that even though you did everything right (in the sense of conforming to technical standards), your edit suite still doesn’t handle your colors properly. Trial and error is really the only reliable method and only once you’ve established your particular workflow in >>>your<<< facility everything runs smoothly. Mylenium [Pour Myl
