  • Is it possible to change the colour of a solid in REAL TIME?

Posted by Daniel Haskett on April 29, 2005 at 12:53 am

    Hi there

Just wondering if it is possible to change the colour of a solid in real time like you can in photoshop so that you can see the affect the colour has on the screen without having to keep pressing ok and then going back again. does that make sense? So you can delicately change the colour and see the affect on the screen as you change it? Surely this must be possible but I have only found it possible to change it by going so Solid Settings.

    thanks in advance!

Not exactly. But you could apply a Hue/Saturation filter and adjust the colour in real time from there.

AFAIK you can’t change the color of a solid directly, other than using the color picker and clicking OK.

However, you CAN apply the Fill filter to a solid, and then use a simple expression (in conjunction with Expression Control slider controls) to independently adjust the R,G,B,A values in real time.

    hope this helps….aloha,

Or you could use PowerPicker from FNord which does exactly what you want and provides a much better way of color selection in general.
