Well, there are several scripts dealing with importing text (look at AEnhancers.com)… So if you can make a list of your images, it’s quite possible. Other than that, it wouldn’t be impossible to parse the file names natively and create a textlayer spitting out the name… I don’t think anybody has something in stock, though, so you may wanna ask someone at the mentioned forum if they can help you out.

Not possible. Audio is menu-specific. You have to create separate menus for each audio track you plan to use and switch thru them using auto-action.

I don’t think you get a workable solution using Encore… This type of stuff is usually done using using explicit parameter chaining (we use Scenarist for this stuff) to temporarily store language commands and have them process at once on exiting the menu. Another method would be using multiple title sets and domains, but Encore doesn’t support these features, either.

As I understand it, your graphics themselves are not touched by this, your client just needs some travelling mattes to use in his editing system.

No, AE does not use dithering patterns. Even if it did, it probably would use adaptive 8 bit instead of ordered 2 bit. However, you might have some succes by using posterization in combination with Particle Playground or the Checkerboard pattern effect… You should also try to mangle your image sequence thru Image Ready or Photoshop via automation. They might provide just what you need.

Nope, wrong approach. The best res you can get for free is the huge NASA Blue Marble map (32000 by something pixels), but even that is not enough if you really want to zoom in tightly. In addition to that, you could never load it in AE and still be able to work with it. The only way you are ever going to be able to pull this off, is to use multiple rez footage and add invisible transitions – pretty much like Google Earth does, but with better quality and fancies.

Well, take out your credit card and buy one – one with as many details as your budget allows, regardless on how close you are going to zoom in on it. As far as I know, there are no good free ones around. Make sure it has all UV maps set up and comes in a format C4D can import (OBJ, 3DS, LWO). You won’t find anything natively in C4D format, I’m almost 100% sure of that. If it has proper UVs and textures, you should then be able to easily drop in your national insignia in Photoshop… Take care to pick the right sub-type (I believe Greece uses mainly older A and B models and just recently purchased a few Cs and Ds), as today there are over 60 variants of F16s and they all have minute, but often noticeable differences (air duct, exhaust pipe, electronics hump etc.).

Nope, doesn’t work with masks. If it’s an option, do that stuff in Illustrator and then simply copy & paste your masks. Other than that, you could always pre-compose…

Check your transcode settings and footage interpretation in Encore. Most likely you are simply using wrong settings there, otherwise Encore does a just fine job of producing good DVD. Also do not forget that MPEG-II will always loose some quality, no matter how good your transcoding engine.
