I remember being given a Demo of an Avid Adrenaline solution years ago, when I first wanted to buy a NLE system. The demo was setup in a facility that Avid told me had just purchased the system. When I came the editor didn’t really know the system at all, and nobody could answer my questions – so I ended up getting a Media100, which I have never regretted. Some months later I met the editor who had done the Avid demo for me, and asked if he was getting more comfortable with the system. He replied that they never had purchased the Avid system – the whole thing was staged by Avid to get me to purchase their system!

This is the DEBATE forum. There is nothing negative about it, but sarcasm is quite common in debates ; )

What I really wanted to point out is that there is a reason why people specialize in the professional world. One person can simply NOT excel in all fields. If you try to do everything, it WILL be moderate.

managing software doesn’t make you a professional. It is only when you master it, which needs full attendance, and not just trying out for your moms website.

And here I thought professionalism was about letting the right people do the job – not trying to accomplish everything single handed with all Adobes palette of tools…

After the introduction of Adobe CC, I am starting to regret this decision…

  • I wouldn’t mind the cloud subscription based model, if I was able to choose which parts of their software park I want to pay for. Just doesn’t seem fair that the annual fee almost doubles in comparison with the old box subscription model.

Yes I know that if I stop paying it will render my software useless. But I have already learnt the lesson from Apple, and from now on always save an XML along with the project file.

Yes I know there are workarounds for many of the issues.

But it is like pushing my car as a workaround to get it to start, when the battery is dead…
