(Crackling from high volume)Thanks for trying some things, unfortunately re-recording isn’t really an option, would you suggest anything to… soften it at least? If it can’t be removed without destroying the voice line, it would be nice to at least make it so it’s less harsh on the ears.
Vegas’s inbuilt things preferred but I don’t mind using audacity or something.

The project is several gigs large, it would probably be easier to run the buggy audacity plugin 10 minutes at a time than to upload it to show.
I have been told the clicks are because the audio program was struggling to write, this is because I accidently had video recording settings far too high.

I don’t seem to have that in my Audio FX, I’m using Vegas Pro 10… I don’t suppose it’s possible to download that plugin for my version?

The settings match, there was a problem when I recorded the audio and it make this skipping noise appear in a few places. Does Vegas have any tools that can help iron them out?

October 7, 2014 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Experiencing Audio Drift in Vegas, unsure what’s wrongAh I see, the menu that has Classic and Elasque as the options? What should I be going for here? I know I’m only making a very minor stretch time-wise but I don’t want to screw up my audio with pitch shifting.

October 6, 2014 at 11:45 am in reply to: Experiencing Audio Drift in Vegas, unsure what’s wrongFor some reason stretching didn’t occur to me (nor did I know how to do it)… I will test this later when I’m at my project computer. I usually zoom right in and use the numpad to do precise and small movements though, will ctrl-click-drag when zoomed in be accurate enough… is it possible to do this with the numpad controls at all?

October 6, 2014 at 5:22 am in reply to: Experiencing Audio Drift in Vegas, unsure what’s wrongAh I see, so despite both being 48,000 it would be pure luck to get them perfect if using two different programs? I see.
So it’s definitely the clock speed despite both being the same sample rate then… hmm, Is the clock speed always the same for devices? Would it be possible to find out what clock speed my HD-PVR is and tweak my audio program appropriately? Or am I just kind of doomed to re-syncing every 30-60 minutes?
I have some PC recording coming up soon that’ll use one program to get both game and commentary (DXtory), it does them both at the same time… hopefully that means they’ll both be fine? ^^

October 5, 2014 at 5:07 am in reply to: Experiencing Audio Drift in Vegas, unsure what’s wrongWell the thing is, I ‘did’ used to get perfect sync… maybe it’s when I upgraded recordpad to a later version, perhaps it can’t handle longer recordings as well. We switched because the recordpad we were using would only record in hour chunks for some reason…. now that I think about it our last perfectly synced project might have been using that.
Just so I learn something anyway, what’s clock speed? Both the game’s audio in the video and the game’s audio as captured by our mic should both happen at the same time surely?

Must be quicktime in this instance then… oh well, I can live with it for one project.
What’s this about dropping the video level to 99%? Where is this modified so I can make sure I don’t make said easy accident.

You know I just also thought to experiment with that, what do you know.. a past project using the same transition I first noticed lagging (the basic Iris one)… no lag.
I think this might not be a vegas thing now actually, these files I’m using for my current project I had problems with, we accidently recorded in mp4 and not m2ts and I had to install quicktime and do some other conversion stuff to make them even work.
Update : Oh yeah… just tried putting in a transition in the one hour of game footage we did in m2ts (before screwing up the rest and recording in mp4 by accident)… no lag, I guess this is a quicktime thing lagging up Vegas on transitions… unsure if anything can be done about that, but it’s nice to know it’s not vegas.
