I have no idea what that means, but it sounds a bit more complex then ‘change a setting’. As you can imagine it’s kind of annoying when something worked fine in XP… and on the so called better OS of 7 it lags. O.o

I only mentioned overlapping commentary because what I’m primarily working with are ‘Let’s Play’ projects that I do with my cousin, and because of that the commentary track ‘cannot’ be moved from where it’s synced with the video, otherwise the video game audio in the video, and the video game audio in the commentary track won’t match, so in this case if I overlap videos I ‘have’ to overlap audio where I’m talking.
-
Well when I said audio I also ment the possibility of commentary tracks overlapping, not just background music and whatnot, even with a fade, having words splice together can’t be a pretty outcome.
I’ll make sure if I know in advance that I want something to transition to leave it recording for an extra minute or so, I usually tend to have cuttable stuff at the beginning of videos too.
I’ll keep everything you’ve said in mind, it gives me less of a headache now I’ve slept on it. 🙂

Well I hope I don’t want to do that in the near future then as I don’t understand how people can even use transitions that way if their video has audio since it’ll end up making a weird audio overlap during the cross event.
But either way thanks for trying to explain, I at least get why my split event transitions work now.

Oh I see… it’s using the deleted frames. Up until now I’ve only ever used a transition if I had to cut a part of a video out for recording breaks and the like, interesting.
So if I actually wanted to put a transition between two seperate videos, that had not been trimmed or anything… how would this work since overlapping would also overlap the audio?
-
That just confuses me even more as I’ve been doing it the way I said for a while now, the problem is I can’t ‘really’ overlap because then the audio will overlap, or moving the video will make the audio desync, unless I’m just not quite understanding your solution?
As an example I just tried making a new split event elsewhere, just dragged the transition into it and it works, but this existing split doesn’t seem to want to do anything.
Also on a side note, transitions lag in my preview window, I suppose that’s just a hardware thing? I have a decent enough i5 quad core and 4 gigs of ram.

That fixed the issue, thanks for such a quick reply. I don’t think I’ll ever need to edit a file vegas is using, but I’ll keep that in mind if I do, cheers.

March 3, 2014 at 7:53 am in reply to: Videogame footage has some kind of motion blur after RenderI didn’t mean offence, personality quirk. 😛 Hmm, the render with the interlace flicker reduced, at least on this particular video didn’t seem to do anything at all. I would assume because this video was using progressive capture from my Wii.
I guess this option only really does stuff with say, PS2 and below since they’re all interlace outputs? Just for my own peace of mind however, can this setting make a video worse in any way? It would be nice to know if there’s any certain things it could make go wrong so I can identify what’s causing a problem later down the line.
Though until then I suppose it can’t hurt to have it on, thanks Steve. 🙂
