Yes Shot in 24p wish to use Final Touch later and then do a reverse telecine ( film recording process)

I thought getting SDI in will be better than a Analog.

    I have a fast disk array – Huge 4Gb single port 2TB

Can I grab SDI in from JVC and do the process , I guess as Jerry says I dont need Luminer

    regards

  • This is interesting , please let us know how Windows XP runs on the new MacPro with the DeckLink or Multibridge.

Maybe one can even have both running depending upon Application/editors best of both the worlds
FCP and Premiere on one System.

    regards

July 17, 2006 at 2:39 pm in reply to: FCP vs. Smoke

Smoke has 4:4:4 not nitris , FCP with Multibridge on SD I dont know but HD 4:4:4 supported you can have a external 30: as a broadcast monitor not possible on a Smoke.

Sapphire and effects renders faster in Quad compared to Smoke on Linux. Mainly a single software Smoke if you need to do the same you need FCP with Automatic duck AE or Better Shake 4.1 , whihc is again a sepertae software.

But I feel if you are a post house and you rent the studio time you can get more for a smoke since its got hype and people know its expensive and FCP is not expensive so you will not be able to bill that much.

If you are Production house and need to do your own jobs both SD or HD and not rent your system as a studio then FCP Shake with sapphire plug ins
and FC storage is the way to go , save that money and get a SAN , cheper upgrades. Smoke AMc is expensive. Now with KONA 3 and Multibridge extreme you can do 2K too. In a SAN you can use Picture ready a Great APP for the OSX only.

    For your DVCPRo hd

Inferno not worth better off with Multibridge extreme with quad Huge 4210 array with Atto PCI-e FC card
    30″ display 2 nos

    Software
    FCP
    Sapphire,
Mokey & Monet ( the best 2D and 2.5 D tracking software, people who dont have a Flame and Inferno and want a tracker and better keyer than them get these 2 software you wont need a Discreet advanced system)
AE with Automatic duck or combustion or shake what ever you prefer.
If you need high end color correction try color finnesse plug in for FCp or use FinalTouch
maybe with a Tangent controller if incase you need to go grading

This is my leathle system of choice

Spend this it is lot more cheaper and you can afford to buy 2 ferraris and couple of beatles for your children and keep some money in Bank to pay interest for your next purchase

discreet system expensive not worth & expensive to maintain.

    cheers

    Hi Choice is MB Stu

Feature set wise price performance I find MutBStu far better than anything else on market. Only thing it is not shipping yet. You can go in for Express it is same just less audio in/out ( Ithink)

What you mentioned in your earlier post
    ——————————
I’d also like to see a real analysis of how Kona’s built in processing power actually accelerates HDV, DVCproHD and RT extreme, and is it actually important with the advent of quad processor machines.
    ——————

I too would like to see if someone can discribe more on this. Because till date I have never seen RT performance differences between the 2

We use firmtek . Its awesome.

More so with the Western digital Caviar 320GB drives. They are better. I think if not better same as Maxtor whihc David is saying.

Western Digital Drives are better than all of them

October 24, 2005 at 8:03 am in reply to: Kona 2 vs Axio

I was hoping if Matrox would develope the Axio for The the New G5’s and we get some awesome RT performance in SD and in HD

RT chroma, Titles, Slomo etc etc 2 graphic layers etc tc

I dont understand why are they only sticking to PPro even Incite is shut down now

They will sell more cards for the OSX than the PC. Axio is expnsive and comes with 1 year warranty repairs for them will be expensive like digisuite

I would go with the existing DeckLink MultiBridge HD no need to wait for Express.

This is a ideal option. It has far more features analog digital check out the site.

    No way Kona 2
